Congratulations, Luís!

Well, the family EnChanTya gets bigger and bigger. This time we gladly announce that Luís and his wife, Xana, are proud parents of a big baby boy: David Francisco. We couldn't be any happier for the three of them! Feel free to congratulate Luís for his firstborn.

 

March 24th:

Recordings - Day One

As planned before, the band kickstarted the recording for the debut album. João did a hell of a job, ravaging drum rhythms and fills in record time. Things are going smoothly and we are all hopeful to have the album ready to rock in late Summer. Everyone at LXPro Studios has been supportive and restless, and we couldn't ask more from them. Our many thanks to Orlando, Cruz, Peter, Neves, Moreira and all the guys. Soon, it's MP turn to put on the headphones and do his magic on his 5 string bass guitar. Keep tuned for further news about the new album.

 

March 16th:

Rute prefers Shure!

After setting the deal with LXPro for the album recording, the partnership between the studio and the band keeps getting better and better. As a long time user for Shure microphones, Rute was more than happy to accept a Shure Beta 58 Wireless endorsement, and set to do some vocal workshops every now and then.

 

January 4th:

2008 - A Brand Good New Year. Album to come!

The new year sounds promising so far. The band is set to start recording the debut album still this month. For now, it is the only that we can unveil to the fans. Shortly we will post pictures and videos of live footage from the recording sessions. The band will set up a diary journal to keep you full updated with everything related with the studio hours.

 

October 16th:

News, news... and even more news!!! New drummer, compilations, and so on...

Indeed we were a bit 'quiet' and absent here at our website, but there are a lot of news to be unveiled. The band has been gigging in several places, in some sort of 'live playin' spree'. First at the Hard Bar, then at Midas Rock Fest II and finally at Muralhas Rock Bar. The big news is that the band has recruited finally a new drummer that played in these last 3 concerts. The mystery man is João Monteiro. Feel free to find out a bit more about him at 'The Band' section. Again, the band expresses their extreme gratitude to Bruno for all his effort and support, keeping the drums hard and loud during this tough period without a steady drummer.

But the news go on. There are a couple of new videos at youtube.com that you can watch too. More will follow shortly, including more footage from Midas Rock Fest II and some from Hard Bar gig as well.

Probably during November and until the end of the year, the band will be recording a new EP/demo at LxPro Studios. Meanwhile, EnChanTya will feature in two metal compilations: '80 de Rock' and an international compilation 'Anaites Compilation 3' with the song 'Longing for You'.

But not all are good news though. Unfortunately, the gigs at RockLab and Corroios were cancelled due to organization issues. Nevertheless, the band still endures in scheduled new dates from these venues. Stay tuned for new tour dates!

 

August 7th:

Midas Rock Fest II with new venue!

Instead of the charismatic Culto Club, Midas Rock Fest have moved over to a new venue. The event will occur at the Music Box room, Lisbon. Two rocking and headbanging days full of great bands. EnChanTya will proudly headline the second day of the event, along with the guests 'Crimson Tears' from England, and the national Wintermoon and Tearful. Make sure you'll be there! You can find tickets with special price at our merchandising area. 8 euros.

 

June 14th:

June 7th:

New tour dates scheduled!

2007 continues to be a surprising year for the band and some more dates and venues are being scheduled. For now, four more were added. A big concert at the local festivities in Odivelas at the July 11th, an appearance at Midas Rock Fest II in September, and at RockLab, Moita and Corroios in November.

 

June 3rd:

The aftermath of last night's concert!

Last night was truly inspiring and probably a landmark in EnChanTya's career, due to Gunnar's debut with the band. Despite some technical problems the band delivered a tight and powerful sound to a stunned crowd that cheered and vibrated with a setlist full of surprises. EnChanTya played some new songs like 'Clad in Black' and performed an Arch Enemy's cover of 'We Will Rise'. The band is very grateful for this magical night and thanks everyone that supported us 'til the end. The 'darkest night of the year' continued with a great performance by the italians Theatres des Vampires lead by a charismatic Sonia Scarlet. Our greetings to them as well, and our wishes for a great sud american tour.

 

May 13th:

Bruno (Gunnar) from Ciborium working with EnChanTya

Bruno Guilherme, current drummer of bands like Ciborium, Devonian and Aergis, is working with EnChanTya nowadays and will assure drums on the next scheduled concerts. The band is very thankful and longing for a fruitfull colaboration with Bruno.

 

May 5th:

Vlad Vampire has recorded for Urban Tales forthcoming album!

Vlad Vampire was invited to participate in the forthcoming album for the gothic rock portuguese band 'Urban Tales'. Working with Bruno Fingers in studio, Vlad recorded several tracks for most of the songs to be unveiled in late May or early June, according to the official Urban Tales' news.

 

May 1st:

EnChanTya support act at Bla Bla Bar cancelled!

We sadly inform all our fans and supporters that unfortunately, due to contractual failures from the organization, 13th Night and Marco, manager for Deep Cut band, EnChanTya will not perform at Bla Bla Bar on June, 1st, as it was announced and scheduled before. The band regrets this situation that we definately wouldn't expect to happen, and we invite everyone to attend to the show on the 2nd of June, at Culto Club. Thanks for your unconditional support and understanding.

 

April 25th:

EnChanTya @ Circulo de Fogo!

EnChanTya will be part of the 1st compilation for the metal radio show 'Circulo de Fogo', conducted by Luis Filipe Neves. 'Night in Whisper' will be available for free download along with other songs from portuguese bands like Hyubris, Twentyinchburial, Dr. Salazar, Ho-chi-Minh, Angriff, Mindfeeder and others.

March 23th:

EnChanTya wins 1st prize at local contest

Last saturday, EnChanTya made a special appearance at the first edition of 'Bandas Procuram-se!', a music contest set by LX Pro and the support of the local institution of Odivelas. Among almost 40 bands, EnChanTya was selected to the final eight, and despite being a contest open to all kind of bands, from rock to pop, hip hop, alternativa, emo,... metal prevailed in the end, thanks to a very focused and professional performance. The setlist included 'Night in Whisper', 'Ocean Drops' and 'Moonlighting the Dreamer'.

The first prize included a recording at LX Pro studios and a top notch concert at the local festivities of Odivelas early in July.

The band thanks everyone who helped us win this contest and the die hard fans that made the effort to be there to support us. Special thanks to the guys at LX Pro.

 

February 21th:

Two dates with Theatres Des Vampires scheduled

The italian goth metal band Theatres Des Vampires is coming to Portugal next July for two concerts. EnChanTya proudly announces to the support act in both dates.

First concert will be in Matosinhos, Porto, @ Bla Bla Bar in July, 1st. Deep Cut, a band from Porto, is set to the kickstart the event. The second concert will take place at the Culto Club, Cacilhas in July, 2nd.
